Over-caffeinated? Hungover? Raring to go? 10 delegates rate their energy levels

We are smack in the middle of the IsarMUN 2019. Half the debates and two out of three socials are behind us. How are your energy levels doing? Did you get more than three hours sleep last night? Was that last drink really a good idea? And did the coffee this morning help you out at all?

At lunchtime on Saturday, the press team went to interrogate delegates about how they were bearing up after intense debating and possibly even more intense partying. We asked them to rate their energy levels out of 10.

Bjørn, delegate for Ethiopia, ACP-EU: 7/10

“I recovered from a hangover this morning. I’ll make the most of the coffee break but I might have a nap during the afternoon session.”

Mehdi, delegate for France, ACP-EU: 8/10

“High energy due to intense debates!”

Zeta, President of the Yemeni Government, Yemen Peace Talks: 10/10

“I started at 2/10 this morning but then within the first 10 minutes of the debate the committee started yelling and never stopped.”

Louise, delegate for Cambodia, ECOSOC: 4/10

“I’m very tired. No hangover, that’s for tomorrow! We will be traveling 6 hours back to Belgium so we can have a hangover on the bus.”

Abdelrahim, Deputy Secretary-General: 2.5/10

“I’ve reached a level where coffee doesn’t make you awake. It just makes your heart beat faster. I’m enjoying it but you can only enjoy it for a day. Tomorrow will be bad.”

Fred, delegate for Portugal, NATO: -10/10

“I started at 2 but then we had lunch. Now it’s mission impossible.”

Illona, delegate for Poland, NATO:  3/10

“I’m the only one that wants to go crazy in the committees! I tried to declare war on Russia and no one wanted to. So it’s not as much fun and I’m tired.”

Toran, delegate for Canada, NATO: 3/10

“The first day was awesome, I would have said 9 or 10. But people start repeating their statements and you realise a conclusion is still way off.”

Claire, Press Team: 8/10

“I slept more than the night before. Also the organisation team gave us food”

Tom, Vice President of the Yemeni Government, Yemen Peace Talks: 10/10

“I got a right of reply just before lunch so I could respond to the Houthi Spokesman and that gave me a lot of adrenaline.”

Hoda, Chair, ECOSOC: 7/10

“I got powered out after the Bavarian dinner yesterday. Because of too many drunk Germans shoving me. Today I feel as cool as this pizza.”
