The Sixth Committee of the UN General Assembly is the main organ to consider legal questions.
It recommends to the GA the adoption of resolutions on highly sensitive topics such as the “Criminal accountability of UN officials and experts on mission” (Report A/71/506) or “The rule of law at the national and international levels” (Report A/71/515).
As the GA Sixth Committee develops and interprets international law, legal knowledge is required for participation in this committee.
