Most people know the UN Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by world leaders in September 2015.

Sustainable Development also is a key issue addressed by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), including the eradication of poverty and the protection of our environment.

The work of ECOSOC is based on the three pillars of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental.

Participation in this committee doesn’t require special prior knowledge but an affinity for socio-economic questions.

Topic A: South-South Cooperation on the issue of rising energy prices
Topic B: Cutting down on Deforestation
